Truist Financial Corporation announces its new senior leadership structure, which will take effect on September 1st.
FREMONT, CA: Truist Financial Corporation has announced its new senior leadership structure, which will take effect on September 1st. As part of the merger of equals that formed Truist, President and Chief Operating Officer William H. Rogers Jr. will succeed Kelly S. King as CEO on September 12th, 2021, as earlier stated in February 2019. Effective until March 12th, 2022, King will take over as executive chairman of the board of directors of Truist Financial Corporation.
According to King, he has the utmost trust in what the Truist teammates will achieve under Bill's leadership since the purpose to inspire and develop better lives and communities is firmly rooted within a strong culture. He's a well-known industry figure who served as SunTrust's chief executive officer and chairman for eight years, and he's well-suited to the responsibility and opportunity to lead the company forward.
It will be a pleasure to follow Kelly as Truist's future CEO, Rogers said. Kelly's inspired leadership has had a lasting, beneficial impact on the clients, teams, communities, and even him personally. The company was optimistic in good cultural alignment, the potential to produce industry-leading outcomes, the ability to increase revenue through complementary businesses, and the chance to acquire the scale to invest in digitization and innovation when they announced the merger of equals. All of these qualities, and others, were demonstrated in the first months together, mainly as they served clients, teammates, and communities during a pandemic.
The company is driving Truist's strategies and trajectory as they finish the final steps of its integration in the months ahead, particularly as they advance its client-centered digital strategy. Rogers added that he is thrilled to announce the Truist Executive Leadership team members and their positions, beginning September 1st.
He is happy about the chance they have at Truist to realize its full potential, to help provide better client experiences and encourage and develop better lives and communities, added Rogers. He is excited to work with this world-class leadership team and the 54,000 talented and dedicated coworkers.
