CFO Tech Outlook: Selection Methodology

Program Objective

The “Top Finance Technology Providers” and related recognitions by CFO Tech Outlook are designed to identify leaders and organizations operating across the enterprise finance technology ecosystem that demonstrate measurable financial outcomes, operational control and sustained decision-making clarity.

The program evaluates executives and solution providers supporting core CFO technology priorities, including financial planning and analysis (FP&A) platforms, ERP and core finance systems, automation of finance workflows, data and analytics infrastructure, compliance and audit systems, risk and governance platforms, and real-time financial visibility tools.

The objective is to highlight leaders enabling finance transformation through system integration, process standardization, data accuracy and scalable digital finance architecture.

The Selection Framework

The research team, in collaboration with the CFO Tech Outlook Editorial Board and an external panel of finance leaders, analysts, and subscriber contributors, applies a structured Cross-Industry Finance Value Assessment Model to evaluate nominees.

Subscriber input plays a central role, reflecting organizations that CFOs and finance teams actively deploy, trust, and retain for mission-critical finance operations.

Nominees are assessed on a weighted scale of 1 to 100 across four core dimensions:

Business Impact on Financial Performance (30 percent)
The evaluation focuses on quantifiable outcomes, including cost reduction, reporting accuracy, process efficiency, and strengthened financial controls.

Industry Relevance and Financial Alignment (25 percent)
Assessment examines alignment with accounting standards, regulatory frameworks, and evolving enterprise finance priorities, including ESG reporting, risk management, and governance.

Execution Strength and Process Reliability (25 percent)
Scoring considers implementation rigor, system interoperability, delivery consistency, and responsiveness within complex finance environments.

Market Confidence and Professional Validation (20 percent)
Strong candidates demonstrate sustained trust, reflected in subscriber nominations, client retention, ecosystem partnerships, and professional credibility.
